My husband and I first found Fareconnect in 2011 while looking for a business opportunity that would bring a bit of extra money into our home and not require a huge investment to start. I had a 9-5 career outside the home. However, both of us had no experience in the travel industry or in running a business. As a young child I knew I wanted to travel the world, but especially go to Disneyworld. My family went camping every year for vacation so I knew I needed to find my own way. While working for the CF in 2003, I had an opportunity to work overseas as a travel coordinator for 6 months. I was hooked! I volunteered again in 2006 and met Cindy. Following our return to Canada, Cindy started her own home-based travel business and I occasionally checked in to see how it was going. When she and her husband opened their own storefront shop a few years later, I knew I had to take the leap.
